Reclamation Program Manager

Terrene Environmental Consulting Ltd. Is seeking a motived individual with exceptional organizational and communication skills to fill the position of a Reclamation Program Manager for a large-scale program within Central Alberta. This is a home-based office position with flexible hours and occasional field work. Duties of the position will include development and review of reclamation plans and budgets, contractor RFP process and selection, management of ongoing field work and associated staff, client communications and updates, report writing and review, Reclamation Certificate Applications, and internal company database data entry.

Qualifications of the successful candidate will include:
  • University Degree and/or College Diploma within the area of Environmental Studies and be registered with an industry recognized professional body allowing for sign off for various professional reports associated to remediation and reclamation on upstream oil and gas projects.
  • Five Years or more field level experience focused on reclamation, vegetation management, and Detailed Site Assessments on sites located on Native Prairie, Cultivated, and Forested lands (White and Green Zone).
  • Strong knowledge of AER’s 2010 Reclamation Criteria’s, Guidelines, and One Stop as well as interpreting Phase I, II, and III ESA reports.
  • Working with staff to determine reclamation requirements, vegetation management strategies, and DSA scheduling.
  • Development of budgets, tracking of budgets and costs, and recording of costs into internal database.
  • Tracking of site status to ensure efficient path to closure is being attained.
  • Skill in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, as well as Adobe Acrobat PDF software. Proficient in the use of Abadata, AgriSid, RRTAC, CanSIS, and various online mapping platforms.
  • Exceptional writing, reviewing, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and motivated to see the program succeed, clear off sites, and take on new projects.
  • Ability to conduct occasional field inspections, assist staff, and provide mentorship to staff as needed.
  • Work flexible hours as required.
  • Ability to confidently review and professionally sign off on various reports/documents including:
    • Reclamation plans, budgets, and contractor invoices
    • Post Reclamation Reports
    • Reclamation Certificate Applications
    • Detailed Site Assessments
